청계천에 놓인 36개의 돌, [청계유석]은 우리가 매일 사용하는 음료수 캔, 우산, 창문과 문, 자전거, 자동차 등을 만들며 생겨난 알루미늄 조각을 재생, 압축해 만든 조형물입니다. 각 [청계유석]의 표면에는 저마다의 흔적이 남아있어, 물결처럼 잔잔한 변화를 일으키고 햇빛을 받아 반짝이다가 시간이 지나면 돌처럼 바래어갑니다. 청계천이 덮였다가 다시 열리며 오랜 세월과 생태를 품어온 것처럼, 이 작품 또한 잠시 머문 뒤 재활용되어 새로운 자원으로 순환하게 됩니다.

These 36 stones are sculpted from recycled aluminum fragments—once part of everyday urban objects such as drink cans, umbrellas, windows, bicycles, and cars. Their surfaces preserve delicate traces of origin, shimmering in light, shifting like ripples, and gradually weathering into the stillness of stone. Like the Cheonggyecheon , once buried and later revived, this work embodies the resilience of time and place. It lingers only briefly before returning to the sustainable cycle of upcycling and renewal.

겹겹이 눌린 알루미늄의 표면은 정리된 듯 차분한 패턴을 보여줍니다. 자동차 패널이나 건축용 판재였을 금속은 압축 과정에서 사각형의 격자와 불규칙한 주름을 동시에 드러내며, 도시적 구조와 해체의 흔적을 한 몸에 담고 있습니다. The surface of this compressed aluminum reveals a quiet order, where squared impressions and irregular folds coexist. Once part of car panels or architectural cladding, the metal has been pressed into a form that carries both the logic of structure and the scars of collapse.

고요의 격자는 파편화된 잔해 속에서도 질서가 형성되는 순간을 보여줍니다. 은빛으로 반짝이는 표면은 빛을 따라 변화하지만, 그 밑바탕에는 시간이 응축된 정적이 자리합니다. 이 돌은 소란스러운 도시의 흔적이 조용히 응결한 단면이자, 순환으로 향하는 또 하나의 출발점입니다. Silent Grid speaks of a moment where fragments fall into unexpected alignment. Its silvery planes shimmer with shifting light, yet beneath them lies a stillness condensed by time. This stone is both the trace of a restless city and the threshold of its return to renewal.
