청계천에 놓인 36개의 돌, [청계유석]은 우리가 매일 사용하는 음료수 캔, 우산, 창문과 문, 자전거, 자동차 등을 만들며 생겨난 알루미늄 조각을 재생, 압축해 만든 조형물입니다. 각 [청계유석]의 표면에는 저마다의 흔적이 남아있어, 물결처럼 잔잔한 변화를 일으키고 햇빛을 받아 반짝이다가 시간이 지나면 돌처럼 바래어갑니다. 청계천이 덮였다가 다시 열리며 오랜 세월과 생태를 품어온 것처럼, 이 작품 또한 잠시 머문 뒤 재활용되어 새로운 자원으로 순환하게 됩니다.

These 36 stones are sculpted from recycled aluminum fragments—once part of everyday urban objects such as drink cans, umbrellas, windows, bicycles, and cars. Their surfaces preserve delicate traces of origin, shimmering in light, shifting like ripples, and gradually weathering into the stillness of stone. Like the Cheonggyecheon , once buried and later revived, this work embodies the resilience of time and place. It lingers only briefly before returning to the sustainable cycle of upcycling and renewal.

이 돌은 길게 이어지는 기억의 흐름을 떠올리게 합니다. 금속의 선들이 시간을 품은 조각들을 꿰듯 이어내며, 무게보다는 울림의 리듬을 전합니다. 단단한 표면 속에서도 은은한 움직임의 흔적이 살아 있으며, 보이지 않는 실로 순간들이 엮여 있는 듯한 인상을 줍니다. This stone evokes the feeling of memories woven into continuity, as if each metallic line carries fragments of time bound together. The surfaces seem to stretch and connect, forming a rhythm that speaks less of weight and more of resonance. What appears solid is at the same time a gentle trace of movement, like moments linked across an unseen thread.

이어진 기억은 영속성과 덧없음이 함께하는 역설을 담고 있습니다. 금속의 정적 속에서 흐름의 기운이 스며들며, 기억을 고립된 파편이 아닌 살아 있는 연결의 사슬로 경험하게 합니다. Threaded Memory embodies the paradox of permanence and transience. It is a form that holds the stillness of metal yet breathes with the sense of passage, inviting the viewer to encounter memory not as an isolated fragment, but as a living chain that continues to flow beyond the frame.
