청계천에 놓인 36개의 돌, [청계유석]은 우리가 매일 사용하는 음료수 캔, 우산, 창문과 문, 자전거, 자동차 등을 만들며 생겨난 알루미늄 조각을 재생, 압축해 만든 조형물입니다. 각 [청계유석]의 표면에는 저마다의 흔적이 남아있어, 물결처럼 잔잔한 변화를 일으키고 햇빛을 받아 반짝이다가 시간이 지나면 돌처럼 바래어갑니다. 청계천이 덮였다가 다시 열리며 오랜 세월과 생태를 품어온 것처럼, 이 작품 또한 잠시 머문 뒤 재활용되어 새로운 자원으로 순환하게 됩니다.

These 36 stones are sculpted from recycled aluminum fragments—once part of everyday urban objects such as drink cans, umbrellas, windows, bicycles, and cars. Their surfaces preserve delicate traces of origin, shimmering in light, shifting like ripples, and gradually weathering into the stillness of stone. Like the Cheonggyecheon , once buried and later revived, this work embodies the resilience of time and place. It lingers only briefly before returning to the sustainable cycle of upcycling and renewal.

물의 기억을 간직한 듯한 형태, 파도가 금속 속에 갇혀버린 듯한 형상입니다. 눌린 표면은 은빛의 물결로 일렁이며, 마치 바다 위에 흩뿌려진 햇빛처럼 빛을 반사합니다. 각 면은 멈춰버린 흐름을 이야기하며, 상상 속에서는 여전히 움직이는 얼어붙은 파도를 떠올리게 합니다. This form carries the memory of water, as if waves have been captured in solid metal. The pressed surfaces ripple with silvery undulations, reflecting light like sunlight scattered across the sea. Each side speaks of currents stilled in time, a frozen tide that continues to move in the imagination.

 은빛 잔물결은 단순한 조각을 넘어, 고요와 움직임에 대한 명상입니다. 금속의 주름들은 억제되면서도 영원히 흐르는 리듬을 품고 있습니다. 그 흔들리는 표면 속에서 관람자는 견고함과 유동성, 영속성과 변화 사이의 조용한 대화를 마주하게 됩니다. Wavering Tide is not only a sculpture but also a meditation on stillness and motion. The metallic folds embody the rhythm of flow, both restrained and eternal. In its wavering surface, the viewer is invited to witness the quiet dialogue between solidity and fluidity, permanence and change.
