청계천에 놓인 36개의 돌, [청계유석]은 우리가 매일 사용하는 음료수 캔, 우산, 창문과 문, 자전거, 자동차 등을 만들며 생겨난 알루미늄 조각을 재생, 압축해 만든 조형물입니다. 각 [청계유석]의 표면에는 저마다의 흔적이 남아있어, 물결처럼 잔잔한 변화를 일으키고 햇빛을 받아 반짝이다가 시간이 지나면 돌처럼 바래어갑니다. 청계천이 덮였다가 다시 열리며 오랜 세월과 생태를 품어온 것처럼, 이 작품 또한 잠시 머문 뒤 재활용되어 새로운 자원으로 순환하게 됩니다.

These 36 stones are sculpted from recycled aluminum fragments—once part of everyday urban objects such as drink cans, umbrellas, windows, bicycles, and cars. Their surfaces preserve delicate traces of origin, shimmering in light, shifting like ripples, and gradually weathering into the stillness of stone. Like the Cheonggyecheon , once buried and later revived, this work embodies the resilience of time and place. It lingers only briefly before returning to the sustainable cycle of upcycling and renewal.

이 돌은 금속의 차가운 질감 속에서도 마치 손끝으로 정성스레 이어붙인 바느질 자국처럼 세밀한 결을 드러냅니다. 반짝이며 겹쳐진 표면은 단단한 방패처럼 닫혀 있지만, 동시에 실로 꿰맨 천 조각 같은 친밀한 감각을 품고 있습니다. 날카로움과 부드러움, 차가움과 따스함이 공존하는 이 양가적인 인상은 금속이라는 물질을 새롭게 바라보게 만듭니다. This stone reveals the delicate trace of hand-sewn seams within the cold resilience of metal. Its overlapping, glimmering surfaces close in like a shield, yet evoke the softness of stitched fabric. The tension between sharpness and gentleness, coldness and warmth, invites us to see metal not as a rigid substance but as a surface that can carry tenderness.

은빛 바느질은 단순한 폐알루미늄의 집합체가 아니라, 빛과 결이 엮여 만들어낸 서정적인 풍경입니다. 그 결은 무질서 속의 질서를, 파괴 속의 회복을 암시하며, 금속의 표면 위에서 한 땀 한 땀 이어진 흔적처럼 다가옵니다. 보는 이는 차가운 물성이 품은 의외의 따스함을 느끼며, 단단히 닫힌 금속조차도 스스로를 꿰매며 하나의 직물처럼 다시 태어날 수 있음을 마주하게 됩니다. Silver Stitch is more than a compressed body of aluminum—it is a lyrical landscape woven by light and texture. Within its folds lies a sense of order inside disorder, a gesture of healing within fracture. Each crease appears like a stitch, binding fragments into unity, reminding us that even the hardest material can reimagine itself as a kind of fabric—resilient, luminous, and quietly human.
