청계천에 놓인 36개의 돌, [청계유석]은 우리가 매일 사용하는 음료수 캔, 우산, 창문과 문, 자전거, 자동차 등을 만들며 생겨난 알루미늄 조각을 재생, 압축해 만든 조형물입니다. 각 [청계유석]의 표면에는 저마다의 흔적이 남아있어, 물결처럼 잔잔한 변화를 일으키고 햇빛을 받아 반짝이다가 시간이 지나면 돌처럼 바래어갑니다. 청계천이 덮였다가 다시 열리며 오랜 세월과 생태를 품어온 것처럼, 이 작품 또한 잠시 머문 뒤 재활용되어 새로운 자원으로 순환하게 됩니다.

These 36 stones are sculpted from recycled aluminum fragments—once part of everyday urban objects such as drink cans, umbrellas, windows, bicycles, and cars. Their surfaces preserve delicate traces of origin, shimmering in light, shifting like ripples, and gradually weathering into the stillness of stone. Like the Cheonggyecheon , once buried and later revived, this work embodies the resilience of time and place. It lingers only briefly before returning to the sustainable cycle of upcycling and renewal.

이 돌은 강인함과 연약함이 서로 맞닿은 풍경처럼 펼쳐집니다. 압축된 표면은 단단한 갑옷을 연상시키며, 금속의 장막처럼 견고하게 서 있습니다. 그러나 그 속에는 면발 같은 가느다란 선들이 얽히고 흘러, 차가운 금속을 부드러운 리듬으로 풀어냅니다. 단단함과 유연함이 겹겹이 교차하며 긴장을 만들어내는 모습은 보호와 취약함이 동시에 존재함을 드러냅니다. The stone unfolds as a dialogue between strength and fragility. On one side, the compressed surfaces resemble solid armor, sheets of metal forged into a shield-like presence. Yet intertwined with this hardness run delicate, threadlike patterns—lines that stretch and curl like strands of noodles, softening the severity with their organic rhythm. The coexistence of these opposing qualities creates a tension that feels both protective and vulnerable.

철의 장막은 이중성에 대한 사유입니다. 갑옷과 천, 방어와 흐름, 경직과 유연함이 맞물려 새로운 조화를 이룹니다. 견고해 보이는 것 안에 감춰진 부드러움, 섬세한 선들 속에 깃든 조용한 강인함. 이 표면은 강인함이 곧 부드러움에 의해 빚어진다는 역설을 품고 있습니다. Iron Veil becomes a meditation on duality: the interplay of armor and fabric, of rigid defense and flowing delicacy. It suggests that even in what appears unyielding, there exists a hidden softness, and within the most fragile lines lies a quiet resilience. Through this layered surface, the sculpture embodies the paradox of strength shaped by gentleness.
