청계천에 놓인 36개의 돌, [청계유석]은 우리가 매일 사용하는 음료수 캔, 우산, 창문과 문, 자전거, 자동차 등을 만들며 생겨난 알루미늄 조각을 재생, 압축해 만든 조형물입니다. 각 [청계유석]의 표면에는 저마다의 흔적이 남아있어, 물결처럼 잔잔한 변화를 일으키고 햇빛을 받아 반짝이다가 시간이 지나면 돌처럼 바래어갑니다. 청계천이 덮였다가 다시 열리며 오랜 세월과 생태를 품어온 것처럼, 이 작품 또한 잠시 머문 뒤 재활용되어 새로운 자원으로 순환하게 됩니다.

These 36 stones are sculpted from recycled aluminum fragments—once part of everyday urban objects such as drink cans, umbrellas, windows, bicycles, and cars. Their surfaces preserve delicate traces of origin, shimmering in light, shifting like ripples, and gradually weathering into the stillness of stone. Like the Cheonggyecheon , once buried and later revived, this work embodies the resilience of time and place. It lingers only briefly before returning to the sustainable cycle of upcycling and renewal.

이 돌은 매끈하게 눌린 금속 면과 깊게 찢기고 구겨진 표면이 맞부딪치며 형성된 풍경을 보여줍니다. 앞면은 마치 잔잔한 호수처럼 빛을 고요히 반사하지만, 옆과 뒷면은 격렬한 손길이 지나간 듯 흔적과 주름으로 가득 차 있습니다. 이 상반된 질감은 충돌이 남긴 흔적이자, 동시에 새로운 질서를 만들어내는 조율의 장면처럼 보입니다. This stone presents a striking dialogue between smooth, pressed planes and chaotic, crumpled folds. The front surface reflects light with a calm stillness, like the surface of a quiet lake, while the sides and back erupt into jagged ridges and compressed lines—marks of violent compression transformed into texture. These contrasting qualities feel like evidence of conflict, yet they also suggest a choreography of balance emerging from impact.

 고요한 충돌은 재료가 겪은 긴장과 이완을 담아냅니다. 자동차의 문짝이나 가전제품의 외피처럼 일상에서 쓰이다 버려진 금속이 압축되며, 부드러움과 거침이 함께 깃든 새로운 풍경을 탄생시켰습니다. 이는 파괴 속에서 드러나는 의외의 아름다움, 균열 속에서 태어나는 또 다른 질서를 은유합니다. Quiet Collision embodies both tension and release. Once part of everyday objects—perhaps a car door or the skin of a household appliance—this aluminum has been reshaped through pressure, fusing softness with roughness, serenity with turbulence. It speaks of the unexpected beauty born from disruption, and of the new order that can rise from within fracture.
