청계천에 놓인 36개의 돌, [청계유석]은 우리가 매일 사용하는 음료수 캔, 우산, 창문과 문, 자전거, 자동차 등을 만들며 생겨난 알루미늄 조각을 재생, 압축해 만든 조형물입니다. 각 [청계유석]의 표면에는 저마다의 흔적이 남아있어, 물결처럼 잔잔한 변화를 일으키고 햇빛을 받아 반짝이다가 시간이 지나면 돌처럼 바래어갑니다. 청계천이 덮였다가 다시 열리며 오랜 세월과 생태를 품어온 것처럼, 이 작품 또한 잠시 머문 뒤 재활용되어 새로운 자원으로 순환하게 됩니다.

These 36 stones are sculpted from recycled aluminum fragments—once part of everyday urban objects such as drink cans, umbrellas, windows, bicycles, and cars. Their surfaces preserve delicate traces of origin, shimmering in light, shifting like ripples, and gradually weathering into the stillness of stone. Like the Cheonggyecheon , once buried and later revived, this work embodies the resilience of time and place. It lingers only briefly before returning to the sustainable cycle of upcycling and renewal.

이 돌의 앞면은 물결이 밀려와 남긴 모래사장의 결을 닮았습니다. 가로로 흐르는 주름들은 끊임없이 되풀이되는 파도의 리듬을 담고 있으며, 빛에 따라 은은하게 변화하는 표정은 바다의 호흡처럼 다층적입니다. 오른쪽은 바람에 갈린 절벽을 연상케 하는데, 거친 흐름 속에서도 부드럽게 휘어진 선들이 서로 교차하며 살아 있는 듯한 에너지를 품고 있습니다. 뒷면은 바위산의 오래된 균열처럼 세밀한 격자가 겹겹이 얽혀 있고, 왼쪽은 숲의 나이테 같은 결이 단단히 응축되어 시간의 무게를 전합니다. The front of this stone recalls the traces of waves retreating from a sandy shore, with horizontal lines echoing the rhythm of the sea. Its subtle shifts under light resemble the breathing of water. The right side resembles a wind-carved cliff, where rugged flows and gentle bends intersect, radiating a quiet energy. The back reveals a lattice like the age-old fissures of a mountain, while the left condenses the concentric solidity of tree rings, carrying the weight of time.

 메아리 절벽은 이 돌이 단순한 물질이 아니라, 자연의 지형이 응축된 풍경임을 드러냅니다. 바람과 물, 빛과 시간이 부딪히고 스며드는 과정이 응결된 듯한 이 표면은, 마치 세월의 기억을 품은 자연의 한 조각처럼 전시장 속에서 고요히 울리고 있습니다. Echoed Cliff shows the stone not as mere matter but as a condensed landscape. It embodies the encounter of wind and water, light and time — a surface that resonates like an echo of nature itself, standing silently yet vibrantly within the space.
