청계천에 놓인 36개의 돌, [청계유석]은 우리가 매일 사용하는 음료수 캔, 우산, 창문과 문, 자전거, 자동차 등을 만들며 생겨난 알루미늄 조각을 재생, 압축해 만든 조형물입니다. 각 [청계유석]의 표면에는 저마다의 흔적이 남아있어, 물결처럼 잔잔한 변화를 일으키고 햇빛을 받아 반짝이다가 시간이 지나면 돌처럼 바래어갑니다. 청계천이 덮였다가 다시 열리며 오랜 세월과 생태를 품어온 것처럼, 이 작품 또한 잠시 머문 뒤 재활용되어 새로운 자원으로 순환하게 됩니다.

These 36 stones are sculpted from recycled aluminum fragments—once part of everyday urban objects such as drink cans, umbrellas, windows, bicycles, and cars. Their surfaces preserve delicate traces of origin, shimmering in light, shifting like ripples, and gradually weathering into the stillness of stone. Like the Cheonggyecheon , once buried and later revived, this work embodies the resilience of time and place. It lingers only briefly before returning to the sustainable cycle of upcycling and renewal.

  겹겹이 눌린 얇은 금속판은 마치 금속으로 만든 밀푀유처럼 쌓여, 한 덩어리 안에 수백 개의 시간을 봉인한 듯합니다. 빛은 각기 다른 층의 결을 따라 흩어지며, 각 층은 제각기 속삭이듯 미묘한 흔적을 드러냅니다. 그것은 단순히 압축된 물질이 아니라, 층마다 스며 있는 기억과 흐름이 조용히 응축된 결과물처럼 다가옵니다. This form holds within it the quiet persistence of countless sheets pressed into one body. Like a metallic mille-feuille, it stacks histories of thin, fragile planes, their edges barely visible yet inseparably bound. Each surface catches light differently, as though every layer whispers its own time-worn memory.

 표면에 남겨진 결은 마치 화폭 위의 붓질을 닮아, 덩어리는 회화적 리듬을 품은 조형물이 됩니다. 무겁게 눌린 질량 속에서 오히려 섬세한 호흡이 감지되고, 응축된 금속의 질감은 고요하면서도 생생한 울림을 전합니다. 겹의 속삭임은 돌과 그림, 무게와 섬세함 사이를 오가며, 압축된 물질이 만들어내는 은밀한 울림을 몸으로 보여줍니다.
 The compressed mass does not simply preserve metal but transforms it into something painterly. On its surface, striations resemble brushstrokes on canvas—gestures frozen mid-motion. Whispered Layers thus exists between sculpture and painting, weight and delicacy, embodying the tension of matter forced together yet still breathing with subtle rhythms.
